Registration of A Member of the Society
Only Newcastle University students and staff members can be the members
of Newcastle University Russian Society (NURS).
As a member of NURS you are eligible for:
TAKING PART IN THE SOCIETY'S MANAGEMENT:
- to vote on the meetings of the Society
- to attend the Executive Committee meetings
- to run for an office in the Executive Committee
TAKING PART IN THE SOCIETY'S EVENTS:
- to organise any events
- to be informed about events
- to have 50% discount on tickets for the Society's events
- to have right for FREE entry to all video movie nights
- to have agreed discounts in some night clubs/pubs in Newcastle upon Tyne
NETWORKING:
- to use Society's mailbase account
- to access the Society members and friends profile database on web site
- to have your own profile in the profile database on web site
OTHER:
- to have your own e-mail box on the Society's web space
- to have your own web space on the Society's web site
- to have right of publication of articles on the Society’s web site
New and returning members will again be required to register for the Society and pay membership fees.
MEMBERSHIP FEE:
- Annual membership fee is only £2.
You have to pay additionally £2 as insurance fee - it's paid only once independently on the number
of societies you register.
REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
- Students have to visit
Student Union's web site first and complete the application form on-line.
- Then, students and staff members have to
visit Ann Guest (Room 20, second floor, right wing of the Student Union) from 10am to 12pm on Tuesdays or from 12pm to 2pm on Thursdays.
Bring your Smart Card and membership fee with you.
Your membership is not valid until your details are checked, fees paid and membership card issued by the Students' Union.
